House music, a genre of EDM, originated in Chicago in 1982 with a steady 115-135 BPM pace. DJs in the underground club scene modified disco tunes to create a more mechanical beat, resulting in the unique sound of House music. The genre typically features 4/4 rhythms, hi-hat cymbals, and repeated baselines, distinguishing it from its disco roots. House music places a strong emphasis on electronic production and tends to be more subtle in its approach compared to Disco music.
This genre was pioneered by Peech Boys with their track, Don't Make Me Wait, Released in March 1982.
