Cyan Circle

The circle used on NCS to promote Melodic Dubstep.

Melodic Dubstep is a subgenre of Dubstep that originated in the early 2010s. This subgenre evolved from Dubstep, but it has its distinct sound and style, which sets it apart from both Dubstep and Brostep. Unlike its predecessors, Melodic Dubstep emphasizes the use of melodic and harmonic elements, such as catchy melodies and epic chord progressions, over heavy bass drops and aggressive rhythms. Although it shares some similarities with Dubstep, its unique sound has earned it a dedicated following and a distinct identity as a subgenre.

On NoCopyrightSounds, Melodic Dubstep is normally represented by a Cyan/Blue circle color. In 2013, NCS labelled Melodic Dubstep (They did Chillstep with the cyan circle in 2013, not Melodic Dubstep) with the blue circle until 2014 when they finally included Melodic Dubstep into the cyan circle. However, in 2019, Melodic Dubstep got moved back into the blue circle but got moved back into the cyan circle in 2022.
